The short version
Upkeep keeps your maintenance records on your phone. There is no account, nothing is uploaded, and the developer cannot see what you track. The only data that leaves your device is what the advertising SDK collects, described below, and you control that.
What the app stores, and where
When you add an item or mark one done, the app writes it to a database inside its own private storage on your device. It holds:
- the items you track — name, any label you gave them, category, and what you do to them
- the interval you set, and the date you last did it
- for items you track by distance, the odometer figures you enter
- the history of completions, with their dates
- any notes you write, and your reminder and display preferences
None of this is transmitted anywhere. It is not sent to the developer, not synced, and not shared. If you uninstall the app, it is deleted with it.
What the app does not collect
The app never asks for and never stores your name, date of birth, phone number, email address, postal address, or any government or payment identifier. It does not require you to create an account or sign in, and it does not request your location.
Notifications
Reminders are produced on your device by comparing the dates you entered with today's date. Nothing is sent to a server to schedule or deliver them, and no push service is involved. You can turn reminders off in the app's settings, or in Android's own notification settings.
Advertising
The app is free and shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. To serve them, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects device and usage information such as a device advertising identifier, approximate location derived from your IP address, and app interaction events. This is standard advertising data collection, handled by Google, not by the developer.
Your maintenance records are never shared with the advertising SDK or with any advertiser. They never leave your device.
Where the law requires it — in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — the app shows Google's consent form the first time it runs, and asks whether you agree to personalised ads. You can change that answer at any time from Settings → Ad privacy choices. If you decline, you still see ads; they are simply not personalised.

Backup
If you have Android's backup switched on, the operating system may include this app's data in your device backup, which is stored in your own Google account. That is a function of Android and your Google account, not of the developer, who has no access to it. You can turn it off in Android's backup settings.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version appears at this address with a new date at the top.
